Afterthoughts of a Soldier
I walked off the plane, with my head held high
Thanking the lord that I did not die
I’ve been through hell
Many has heard death’s final bell
I look back at all my fallen brothers,
Who never had a chance to say goodbye to their mothers,
Who will be weeping in the days to come,
Because their only child’s life was taken by a gun.
I walked off the plane, with my head held high
Thanking the lord that I did not die
For I have been through hell
And my brothers have heard death’s final bell
