Seven
Feelings of freedom
Independent of obligations
To myself or to others
Only to fun.
Knowing nothing but wonder
I wondered at what there was to know
Eventually choosing
To spend my time
In play.
I rode my bike up and down the hill
Skidding at the bottom each time.
Knowing that the bike would be thrown out soon,
I skidded all day.
Time after time.
Up and down.
Eventually
With no rubber on the tires
I came to a stop.
After the tires had worn,
There could be no skidding
It was time for me to ride.
