People are driven from their homes, despite their desperate plea

Going to fetch a pale of water is no longer safe
Men will be shot and women deal with rape

People of all ages must travel hard terrain
Searching for safety, searchin’ and prayin’

Poor infrastructure, poverty, and oil
All contribute to Sudan’s great turmoil

Millions and millions of people have died
In what America now calls genocide

By now I hope you are saying, “But, what can I do?
Because I want to help, too.”
