Two woods diverged in a yellow wood and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference

I’m sorry! Didn’t realize T-shirts weren’t cool,
Sweatshirts must be designer
Boots must be Uggs
“Backpack” needs to be a purse
That my skinny jeans needed to cut off the oxygen

Since when was it okay to wake up at 5:00?
Just to straighten some hair
Looks great,
Until you do it again tomorrow
I don’t want to fry my hair to impress others

I didn’t realize I wasn’t cool for not wearing eyeliner and mascara to blacken my eyes
Coating my eyes until I might as well be called a raccoon
Use hot pink eye shadow
Sticky pink lip gloss and smelly perfume
Make up is meant to bring out the NATURAL features, not make some abnormal features

I didn’t get the memo sports were for guys
Soccer and volleyball for us
Poms and cheerleading
Doing cartwheels and flips were cool,
But beating a guy in a sport I enjoy was uncool

Whoops, sorry my phone came out a year ago
My laptop isn’t from Apple®
No iPad or iPhone
I don’t text during class
Or take pictures of my friends in study hall

Did I miss something or were backpacks always for iPads,
No usage of notebooks or dictionaries
The internet for answers
Textbooks were for show, online for use
That the backpacks lack everything useful, only gimmicks

Salads are for losing weight, last time I checked, no one is 200 lbs.
Hate to break it to you, but I’ll eat some fries
Maybe I’ll eat my lunch out of a BAG
Not out of a lunchbox that cost $40 or more
That when I eat, I’ll actually eat in, and digest it ALL the way

Okay, I’m sorry my friends don’t laugh at everything
That they will actually have my back
Not stab it
That they’ll laugh with me, not at me
I apologize that my friends don’t make fun of everyone

I didn’t realize the school rules were so strict, made up by the “populars"
Honestly, I don’t see what makes them popular,
If they have to fake it
Call me a dork, call me a freak, but at least I know,
The life I live in is true and natural. I won’t spend money to fit in with the crowd because,

Just a little secret…
The crowd is made up of the not-so-popular kids, so why do we need to spend $1000 to fit in, when, by being normal, we have set our own curbs

Why do I need to change for a school I don't even care about anymore? I have my friends, I have my signature style, I don't see what else I really need
