My heart is still burning

But I'm here still learning

About what I want to do

If I still want to go after you

All our little fame

Hasn't left me the same

Now, you see, we've become so ajar

And now I have to once again admire you from afar

I remember it all

The time we shared on the fall

Friends, close friends,

But it was more than that in the end

I've got a fire burning

And even though I'm learning

At heart I'm still a fool

So I guess that makes me a slave or a tool

As the sun shone through

I turned to look at you

I think "There are none, or so very few"

"I could never love another as much as I do you"

Something in me snapped and stirred

And everything around me whirred

As the beautiful gold became a soulless blue

I realize how much I really need you.

The author's comments:
This is basically a story of heartbreak, and the dream that came with it. While the dream was only a fleeting few seconds before I woke, I remember seeing the beautiful girl that was once mine laying next to me. So, I woke up, and wrote this.
