Shiny Brown Eyes
Outside looking in I see. . .
depression
sadness
loneliness.
When she is sad her eyes drop with tears
like rain falling from the sky
drip- drop- drip- drop.
When she is happy her face is as bright as the sun.
She looks out the window.
I see the window reflecting off her eyes.
I know she wants to be out there but it is always snowing and raining. So. . . she looks sadly at the TV without even a smile.
When I come in a smile turns up upon her face.
Her eyes twinkle and I know she is happy.
