The Crowd Fell Silent
The crowd fell silent
starring at the ground
the pain they feel
I feel it too
I clench my fists
as your mother speaks
remembering the times when
you were here
tears starting to stream
as she talks about your smile
I know you couldn't take it
sometimes I get that too
But as they lower you down
I just want to scream inside
Trying to let everyone know
it was my fault
that you let go
I should have held on
should have listened
i shouldn't have lied
and you advised
to take you seriously
but I forgot
Now I'm standing here
crying at your grave
all over my own mistake
The tears keep creeping
as I watch them cover you in dirt
all I think is why?
why did she have to pay
she was crying for help
but I did not listen
as if I was to selfish to care
but thinking of her kept me up at night
kept me pondering my life
now she will never hear that because
Trying to let everyone know
it was my fault
that you let go
I should have held on
should have listened
i shouldn't have lied
and you advised
to take you seriously
but I forgot
Now I'm standing here
crying at your grave
all over my own mistake
