A for Effort
You might be the only one who can snap me out of this.
But I can see in your speckled gray eyes
that it would take you too long.
And you're the kind of person who could save the world,
But chooses to sleep in.
You told me twice
in your faded green sweatshirt
that I worry about all the wrong things.
But you never told me once
that you do it too.
I wonder if I believe you because of your persuasive smile
or if I believe you
at all.
