Adamantine
Here we rest on precipice
Overlooking empty space
While a species we don’t recognize
Try to move us from our place
With brazen eyes that burn cold souls
And melt away our grace
Embodying our greatest fear
Of coming face to face
With curling fingers of selfish hands
They jab at swollen flesh
And for moments of intense distress
Betraying skins might mesh
But we the stronger of the two
Hold our ground in vein
To discover that the obscene breed
Are but mirrored window panes
