Prelude To Rock Bottom
Disoriented and a little dizzy
Floating heavy and I fall
Grabbing at empty nonexistence
You smile gazing at it all
Took hold of atmospheric illusion
Reached up at you, your back was turned
Let go at fear of disappointing
As your words coldly burned
Promise fades to vacant promise
Cloud after transparent cloud
Deafened by the change in pressure
You don’t listen, you’re too proud
Stars and sky and many moons
I cannot hold a single one
I so feeble plummet through
Cold in space and scorched by sun
Clawing there for desperate refuge
Nothing tries to break my fall
Seconds subside to endless eternity
That never could be timed at all
