Pretend
Tuck your emotions away in your pocket;
They’re useless,
They make you weak.
Why waste them on people who matter.
You can’t trust anyone anyway;
Everyone’s out to screw you,
No matter who they are.
When you finally meet someone who’s trustworthy,
It’s weird to pretend you care.
You take out your real emotions and try again,
But they’re a little rusty and they’re not getting better.
Thank god you’re good at pretending.
