"On the stage he was natural, simple, affecting. Twas only that when he was off, he was acting." -Oliver Goldsmith

The truth is that I hate you.
I hate you, but I love you.

You are my best friend and worst enemy.
You are above me and beneath me.

Your words warm my heart as cold as ice.
You try to be bad but really are nice.

You give me sweets and yet I'm sour.
Towards you or myself? Is that why you cower?

We are closest at when apart.
We're at the end of the start.

I want to spend eternity with you,
'Cause forever is as long as never.

This poem led to my current relationship of 5 monthes. The poem is basicly about the conflicting emotions I was having at the time with my best guy friend. I couldn't tell where I stood with him and this poem expresses the odd, almost extreme opposite relationship we had. He eventually read it and admited the liking me and we have been dating since.
