Look into the Rippling Mirror

Look into the rippling mirror,
See its surface, rife with fear.
Cruelty is the word it knows,
Sinning creature far below.
But take a rag unto its face
And smear some blood, hope to erase…
Promises broken - now fulfilled
All is pure – despair is killed.
It sees that sorrow soon does pass
And turns to see a happy mass
Of people gathered, looking free,
Thinking to themselves, what they can be.
