Cherry Avenue
The floors creaked, the wind blew.
It was always quiet, on Cherry Avenue.
Children came out to play only in the Spring Weather,
we barely saw them almost never.
Then the sun falls,
leaving us with pitch dark.
I lay on my bed closing my eyes.
Listening to frogs croak and the birds chirp.
Once I drift to my dreams,
I hear a shocking scream,
then I see lights red and blue.
This is the first to ever happen on Cherry Avenue.
