Game point
We were down 2 to 9
Getting more and more disappointed
We were playing every girl for herself
I was determined though
To pull us back together and get though this
So I rallied up the girls
I gave them words of encouragement
Then all of a sudden
We started playing like a team
Bump – Set - Spike and POINT for the giants
We screamed in excitement
I kept the girls up beat
I was calling all the plays to help them
My determination was straight up set on winning
Finally I was up to serve
I stand still as ice as I wait
For the old partial deaf ref to
Press his chapped flaky lips on the silver whistle
And sound an ear piercing noise
He did clear and loud
I take a breath
Throw the ball in the air and “SMASH”
I spiked the ball straight and hard SCORE
We were in the lead now 18 to 15
I did this twice more but on my third
The crowd was silent as a gave
The ref blow his whistle
I spiked the ball right into a girl’s platform
She passed it to one of her teammates,
Which hit it back over the net
I stand poised waiting feeling every heartbeat
Carla bumps it to Sarah sets it to me
I spike it over SCORE
Game over we won 21:15
With an amazing comeback
The crowd screams and cheers
As I lose myself in the moment

because I felt like I went back in time and was
recording it all. The memory is so vivid I remember
every second and every drop of sweet on the way to
victory.
