Dead Before Death, The Holocaust
A hand grabs me by my shoulder.
A heavy one,
Bearing evil beneath its smooth exterior.
I plan to escape,
Run away.
Away from this dwindling nightmare with no end.
Away from the train of death.
But soon those intentions only serve
As a meek reminder of slight courage.
For the red brick demons stand resolute,
Shielding me from the blistering skies of blue.
Here, evil is disguised differently.
The broiling dirt vanishes
like a million distressed souls,
laminating these walls with freedoms protection.
Silently absorbing each wailing sound.
Here, even our thoughts are controlled.
Until insanity mingles with our dreams
An eerie mixture of impossible .
