Divergent, A Poetic Summary
Beatrice Prior’s dystopian world is divided
Into five distinct factions, all unique-minded.
Every faction dedicates itself to a virtue,
And Beatrice chooses Dauntless to pursue.
She leaves her family, becoming one of the brave,
Craving the freedom her previous life never gave.
Forgetting her past, she turns into Tris,
And thoughts of her parents she does dismiss.
As she begins initiation, Tris finds friends,
Whom she trusts and on whom she greatly depends.
Along with pals, she also gains foes,
Who wickedly bring her endless woes.
Romance forms between Tris and her trainer, Four
Who harbors the secret that she is so much more.
For Tris is a Divergent, an enemy to the society,
And one who brings authority nothing but anxiety.
As Tris successfully becomes one of the Dauntless,
She learns that soon her nation will become lawless.
Faction against faction, a bloody war does commence.
Tris, a Divergent, defeats the enemy at a great expense.
