"We live in a strange bubble"

Are thee playing with fire?
No mum, yes mum.
Are thee playing with knives?
No mum, yes mum.
Are thee dabbling in black hearts,
Abiding with the black hearts?
Never mum, forever mum.

Are you deceased?
Certainly, mum.

The author's comments:
This is the poem I wrote for the America Library of Poetry national poetry contest. It was chosen, along with many others, to be placed in a book entitled 'Discovered'. I consider myself very lucky to have been picked out of a crowd. This is a very dark and personal poem about my issues with self harm in the past, as well as my insecurities concerning body image and weight, due to mental issues, personal abuse, and bullying. It also deals strongly with past relationships and addiction. I hope this inspires anyone who went through or is presently going through these issues, as well as related issues. Stay strong kids!
Much love from here!

Wow I really liked this poem. It is short and simple but hits you in the gut when you reach the end. I really enjoyed it.
