I Never Saw You Again
we spoke last night
I never adjusted to the light outside
so I couldn't see you
not really
but I heard your voice in the distance
I didn't talk much
I just listened
I wished I could touch you
but I couldn't find you in the darkness
and I cried
you told me it was okay
I felt your fingers clasp mine
they felt beautiful
and when your hands left mine
and you went away
I slipped from the dock into the ocean
and it didn't make a sound
not really
