The South Hills
We were driving
In silence
I was waiting for
Something to happen,
The kids,
Asleep
Grandma and Brad
Follow behind
As the silence remains
As if,
We are motionless
BAM!!
There was a scream
Now all I hear
Is the screaming
The crying next to
Me
The car stops,
But the crying continues
I shake with fear
And try to comfort
The little one
I look back
And see
The big,
Brown doe
That caused the
Fearful accident
She runs up into
The hills almost in
Shock
My legs
Still trembling
I get out
And notice
A broken headlight
Is all
We are once again,
In silence
