What About Us?
Do they know what it’s like to be the middle class?
When suddenly the jobs are moved off American grass.
We fight for jobs, yet they raise the state tax,
And workers are given the nation wide unemployment ax.
The stocks are crashing, but what can we do?
Don’t they know what they are putting us through?
Inflation is attacking every grocery aisle,
Yet all the politicians do is sit and smile.
What will be left of America when we grow older?
Competition will be tough; people will get colder.
Remember our future before it’s too late,
And there’s nothing on our dinner plate.
