The Small Bird
He is beautiful
Because his plumage consists of soft browns and white specks
 He is graceful
Because he so easily poises himself on the end of a slender branch
 He is unique
Because he chirps a tune different from that of any other
 And he is perfect
Because he faithfully returns each day to sing
 And nothing and nobody else
Except Death itself will silence his song
