Hope Is
Hope is what lies in the hearts of children,
Who wish to become doctors or actors,
Or those who ride a car with a siren,
Or those who sail the sea drinking liquors .
Hope is what keeps people moving onward,
Through their miseries, trials, and sorrow,
It pushes them to be brave and step forward,
Taking steps to experience tomorrow.
Hope is what allows us to try one more time,
Despite the countless disappointments and failures,
It cheers us on when we take another climb,
And live a life with more cheerful flavors.
Hope has more power than a gun or a knife,
That could save or start a whole new life.
