Stormy Words
The grey clouds come sweeping in
In dark and twisted shapes and forms
Forms that mold and melt in the same second
Second comes the booming thunder after the white-hot lightning
Lightning is brought along with this storm
Storm winds as powerful as locomotives themselves race across the plains
Plains tremble with the pure power and crumble with the rain
Rain hits the raw earth and it emits a scent like none other
Other storms are not like this
This one is special
Special clouds known as scud skirt across the bottom of the cell swooping down low and peaking up high
High cumulus nimbus tower at forty-five-thousand feet in the sky
Sky was always blue but it now looks as if it will stay silvery black forever
Forever the rain pours on and the wind howls and the thunder and lightning crashes
Crashes against other meaningless storms
Storms that only help add on to the growing mesocyclone
Mesocyclone some call it but a monster by few
Few tints of green and blue glare down on the world from the dark blanket
Blanket is associated with warmth and comfort
Comfort and not heaps of atmospheric twisted metal
Metal that is sharp and can slice through obstacles in mere seconds
Seconds only if enough power is contained in each blow
Blow by blow the storm rages on
On to only God knows where
Where will the storm go once it vanishes
Vanishes into nothing but some toppled trees and frightened children
Children that ask their mothers why the sky is angry
Angry with a violence only known as Mother Nature
Mother Nature is evidently seen in storms like these
These storms are not only little spurts of rain and wind but rather creatures that will level buildings and destroy lives
Lives of many despise her when she does unleash her power
Power that people wish to tame out of fear
Fear is a weakness for all that leads to these kinds of wishes
Wishes that never seem to consider Mother Nature’s actual beauty
Beauty sometimes can only be defined by the pure power seen in weather that is stormy
Stormy words are how I describe this beauty.
