You Will Hold Everything
All good things come to an end,
Some possibly prematurely.
People will always say it’s for a reason,
But sometimes it’s purely because you screwed up.
You will hold dear every late night phone call
Every sweet text message
The feelings of being whole
The feelings of being cared for
You will carry with you every stabbing word
Every single wrong doing on your part
No matter how big or small it was
It is all yours to keep
For them, it will fade
And so will you
They will never recall being your first valentine
The person you went to when you were breaking
Just because you knew they wouldn’t turn you away
They won’t recall the smile on your face when they walked through the door that cool night
They won’t recall how content you were in their arms
They won’t recall how you fell apart
But you will hold it all near.
