Jealousy
The green-eyed monster is what you know him by
This horrible creature that takes over your life
And makes you seem not so nice
But all he wants is to be recognized
His growl is mean and uninviting
Like a lion that pounces from where he is hiding
The pain he inflicts is worse than biting
Being consumed by him is truly frightening
He covertly sniffs out his unknowing host
Then seeps into your mind like a silent ghost
Ah- before you know it what hit you, you're already toast
He's a parasite that moves into your soul
And can quickly turn it as black as coal.
His tatse in humans has no bounds
He's a tenacious pack of hounds
His hunting grounds are open and free
Geesh, I hope he doesn't pick me

One phrase: "Ah, before you know it what hit you, you're already toast". Shouldn't have the "it"; reads better without.
Many great comparisons between aggressive animals and jealousy. A very good poem. Congratulations.
