Favorite Quote:
Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.
C. S. Lewis

The END
I saw you at a distance
Intriguing and new
I picked you up like a book
Flipping page after page
Delving deeper and deeper
Into your spell

The world slowed down
It sped up
But I just stood there
Reading,
Sinking…

You gave me an escape
An escape to a
World of fantasies
A place to be my oasis

But as I read on
The story changed
And chapters passed me by
The real world came knocking
At my door
But I kept it waiting
I couldn’t put you down

So I kept going
Till the end came near
Terrified of having to let go
Yet even more horrified of lingering
So I read on

All of a sudden
The last chapter arrived
The last page
You weren’t what I had expected
So as I closed the book
And set it down
I didn’t reel for a sequel

Instead I walked off
Content with my journey
And ready to shelve this saga
Once more.

This piece may seem as though its about a relationship, but in truth its about unrequited love. Or in simpler terms, a crush. It was my first serious crush, and well I had been suffering. Now that it's over, I'm glad for the experience.
