Why do we want revolution in this century
when we and our TVs are stalling evolution
Why do we fight for revenge and more
when our laughter is sweeter than our enemy’s tears
Why do we make pretensions
and then mask them with a pretense
Why do we say we’re in pieces
and then increase the rest and peaces
Why do we cold-heartedly argue
and engender more cold wars
Why do we say we want the truth
and then search for the toothless truths
Why do we tie black and yellow ribbons
and soon loosen and forget them
Why do we say one thing and do another
and listen through one ear and out the other
Why do we ask for evidence
when we don’t even have a clue
Why do we pay for new clothes and toys
when we don’t even pay attention
