I have a Jewish mind,
But I have not Jewish skin.
Nor hair,
Nor body,
Nor nose.
Yet I am a Jew.
I close my eyes and hear the Sh’mah,
I see the tents of Mah Tovu,
I feel God’s hand in my soul
And feel both liberty and control.
I am a Jew,
I am Israel,
I am chosen.
I am one among One,
For there is no Jewish body but Jewish soul.

The future is called 'perhaps,' which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the important thing is not to allow that to scare you.

I totally understand. I am Jewish, and my Rabbi is always talking about how we always have a Jewish soul, even if we convert. Beautiful!

I love this poem.
