Red
Red
Red is the color of hate.
Hate held down
By a broken soul
Because the Red words of another
They once loved
Burden their weary shoulders.
Red is the color of dread and war.
Dread feels like
Vulnerability
Contemplating Red
And the war speaks
Of bloodshed, horrors,
And sorrows born
Because the Red of another
Spilled over our own.
Red is the color of defeat,
Of anguish and of pain
Red makes people suffer
Because Red was forced upon them
And because they had no say.
Red feels like sorrow and loss,
Hatred
Towards a brother.
Or a crimson stream gushing,
Sorrow created
At the expense
Of a lover
Who can love
No longer
Because of Red.
Red feels like violence
And it seems like
Anger storming down,
Sounds like
Cries floating on the wind.
Tastes of Darkness and Death
Reminiscent of
Those that suffered
And were lost
Because of Red.
