I stand on the cliff
when you leave me
I stare at the rift
a never ending chasm
I close my eyes
smile one last time
I push my weight forward
I let myself fall
there's nothing like
the feeling
of nothing between
you and the ground
nor quite
anything as frightening
if you just
turn it around.
I grab the edge
of the cliff
Do I really want this?
There's gotta be more
to life than what I know
I don't really
want to die
I just really
want to fly
metaphorically
far, far away
from all my pain
I'm given an offer
and then refused it
Is it too late now?
Should I have used it?
with all my strength
I press down
lift myself up
fall on solid ground
I lay
completely
still.
