When it was dark and lonely,
Before the first man,
Before happy endings,
And before time began.
Our spirits were walking,
One of them was you,
You held out your candle,
To let the light shine through.
You went beyond the surface,
Beyond my face and eyes,
Searching through my head,
And all I had to hide.
Entrapment in your gaze,
Whilest you cleared away the haze,
Slowly I grasped the light,
Coming back into darkness,
No longer afraid of night.
Together our light shines through,
Now I am me,
