Sorrow
I headed towards the forest one very dark evening, for my wife had just passed and I needed time for grieving. So into those woods I went, me and my sorrow. Because if it was not for tonight, there would be a tomorrow. In my left hand I carried, a thick threaded noose, which before I had departed, I made sure would not come loose. I found myself stopped at a tall, broad elm tree. And that's when I saw her, my beautiful Marie. She spoke softly and said "Oh Edward, how could you? After all we've been through, this is something you'll rue!" I apologized to her, my cheeks stained with thick tears, for loosing my lover was something I always had feared. With head hanging low, she sent me on my way. There would surely be a tomorrow because of today.
