Melting snow
Taking with it
The memories of the day
All glistening frivolities
Sliding on the icy patches
Making footprint patterns
Searching for something new
Avoiding the atrocities
Of slush and dead grass
And household chores
Only to return with
Frostbitten fingers and
Frostbitten toes
Waiting for the day to come again
Hoping the sun doesn't come with it
And pouting when it does

The author's comments:
Where I live, snow is rare and it doesn't last long, which makes it that much more exciting.
