The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change-Carl Rogers

What Is hope
What is light
I keep searching
But in spite
Of myself
I keep falling
“it’s alright”
So they say
When will shadows
Go away
Free my mind
They are shrouding
All my life
With their lies
I just want to
Turn back time
Make things right
Now I wonder
If sweet times
Are at rest
No…
The burning
In my chest
Proclaims hope and
Light and rest
Soon on the rise
My time will come!
I must not
Falter at
This wall of tests
Struggles build
My soul
And although painful
I will soar
To new heights
When I have braved
This mountain
I will fight
To the bitter end
For the night
Soon will rise
And the sun will fill my eyes

In rehab on a bad day I wrote to change my mindset and help keep working to get home so I could be with my family again and change the way I have been living.
