Ode to my necklace
Every morning I see you hanging around the silver lamp
Ready to travel with me around my neck.
Strings the color of silver and gold,
Carved of a lowercase t, and attached to a
Small version of Jesus the symbol of Christianity.
You swing around my neck like the swings at the park,
You sometimes fall and make the sound of quarters hitting
  The ground.
You’ve watched the cars passed by at the streets of Sacramento,
You’ve listened to the people singing at church,
You’ve smelled the stinky armpits at school, and
You’ve slept with me at home.
One time you almost choke to death, and now I learned
Not to wear you when I go to bed,
Even though you run away from me, you always come back like a puppy.
You are my good luck charm that leave me with no harm, if I lose you
Again I would be unlucky like all the other times,
Never in my life I would leave you again, that is my lesson.

The ode inspired me to write about my necklace because it is like a good luck charm ever since I got it.
