Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than hands?

-Ernest Gaines.

Alone in this world
And hurt by love
There is a friend
That I have been thinking of

My heart goes out to her
I feel her suffering and grief
I wish I could comfort her
And give her some relief

She is tormented by a past
That just won’t leave
Day and night
With no reprieve

Her spirit is strong
But flesh can be weak
I pray she finds the solace
That she does seek

But most of all I pray
That her past will let her go
So once again she will feel love
And that love, through her, will flow...

Sometimes even the strongest of us may fall. For the girl I've been thinking of forever and a day, this goes out to you.
