Starshine,
of mine,
what happened to
your burning light?
You’ve grown
so far away
while I wait for
the end of day.
What happened to you?
Grown so dim.
You left me here,
where have you been?
The city lights
fight your glow.
Please don’t
let yourself go.
You fade away
into the night,
where you once
shone so bright.

This is short, sweet, to the point, and really has a way of making it easy to connect to the poem and relate it to our daily lives
