Death; A New Life
The woods are silent;
They dare not speak
Of the beloved past,
Nor futures bleak.
I crawl through the shadows,
Desperate for light,
Desperate for hope,
For hope I’ll fight.
For a future that shines
Through midnight’s blinds
For millions of colors
All different kinds.
And so tonight,
I whisper my story
For listening clouds
To bring us glory.
The world was condemned to evil,
Each soul constantly gored:
For profit and greed
With embellished sword.
We massacred the Innocents
Out of ferocious spite,
For pointless reason;
A merciless bite.
Wars raged on; a waste of blood
Man slaughtered his kin,
Triumphantly basking
In his newlywed sin.
The flames rose skyward
Fueled by all spirits wronged
Calling the culprits
Where they truly belonged.
The Creator sent disease,
To manifest in the Forsaken,
To punish the heartless
For the lives they had taken.
I escaped away; I was still pure
But the curse would spread,
Decaying the flesh
Of Innocents too, before they were dead.
The men were grudged,
Now bloodshed rose
More carcasses lay flat,
None of them foes.
The spell I now realized,
Was but the Devil’s game;
Blaming the madness
On mankind’s shame.
It was indeed our fault,
For all the peace lost,
All the purged hearts
Forgotten under frost.
There was no way out;
Freedom did not come with death,
We bore the blazing agony
Past every last breath.
None speak a word
For fear of the Ghoul
Cowards of torture,
Servants of the cruel.
I fear nothing now,
The pain is all I feel;
All other emotions
Beyond pain are unreal.
I struggle away from shadows;
Shrouds are brought by light.
I twist my way through,
Away from dusk midnight.
A faint glow gleams,
A crack to my dawn,
A second chance to hope;
It seems I have gone.
‘Lift me up into the heavens,’
My chants have prevailed.
‘Let me go from our cruel world.’
My hope never failed.
Once upon a time,
The world was bathed in love
Now those blessed spirits
Are scattered far above.
