You told me I was your treasure
And that you would always be there.
You told me that your broken heart
Was a weight that I had to bear.
You told me I was an angel
And that I was a gift from God.
You told me that I was a fool
A liar, a phony, a fraud.
You told me that I was like spring
And that, to you, I was the light.
You told me that I was a weight
That dragged you down into the night.
You told me that your love was true.
A debt that I couldn't repay.
You told me that you would leave me
But it was me that walked away.
