To A Snail.

If you had not tried to slowly crawl across the floor
If I had not stepped in upon my hell and toe
If you'd been slightly faster maybe a little more slow
Then this sad conjunction of foot and snail would not be so.
Ah squash and squash and crunchy-squash-squash
Oh scream and hop about candle
Now look down at this life you've crushed
And wipe it off your sandal.
