"And though she be but little, she is fierce."- Shakespeare

I smile as I watch you grow

Your big, brown eyes stare up at me

There is so much you do not know

So much you have yet to see

You gaze innocently and follow my actions

Wishing on stars in the night

Wishing away my unpleasing imperfections

Awake in the midnight moonlight

"What's wrong?" you ask when I'm sad and down

You're too little to know

"But me a big girl,"  you firmly say

You can't take the burden of this single, lonely frown

You giggle hysterically and call me silly

When I dance and sing my song

You think that's me but that isn't really, truly

You look at me like I'm someone to follow, but that is wrong

You color me a rainbow, all the colors from the sky

Blue and white and purple and pink

Beautiful just like you, beautiful like my Skye

I look at you and I think

Such an innocent being

Sheltered from the pain in this world

You look at everything without really seeing

Life the way I know it

There is so much you do not know

Baby girl
