Digress
I can't forget it
Your actions burned.
They were towards me.
If only I had turned.
Wishful thinking
When I want to stray.
You smile back.
I have to stay.
Need isn't enough.
My love only grew.
I can't live alone.
My heart beats for you.
Now you've left
"To be or not to be"
I have to get you back
Without, I'll never be free.

Originally, this was a poem based off of personal experiences. Later, it expanded in terms of meaning. This poem tells the tale of having to, in a sense, "Digress" from an emotion that is unrequited from a person of distinct interest; having to separate yourself, in order to rescue yourself from the undeniable heartbreak that will be assumed to come.
