A Poem To My Ex
You didn't have to do much; Just a glance was all it took; You made my heart melt and my knees tremble; And to me, you really are something special;
For a second, I thought we'd be forever; But then it tuned into never; But even after everything we've been through; You should know that I'd still run back to you;
I'd still run back to those days of you and me; With my head on your chest, I'd listen to your heartbeat; Back to when the only tears that rolled down my cheeks, were from the happiness that you gave me; Back to when my life was sweet;
Never thought we'd end this way; Now everything is dark and grey; Every night, I pray and pray; But there's still one more thing I want to say;
“ Even if I knew you'd be the one that got away; I'd still go back and get you; And even if I knew you'd be my best and worst mistake; Oh, I'd still make it with you; Over and over, again and again; Even though we break up in the end;”~ Cole Swindell 'Break Up in the End'
