“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”
― Arthur C. Clarke

My face is cold

Wind is petting my cheeks

The cold is kissing my nose and ears

Darkness gently shields my eyes

The atmosphere carries me

Slowly, slower, faster, farther

Light awakens the darkness

Clouds hold my hands

The world in front of my eyes

Darkness lets go, leaving me

The cold engulfs me into a hug

Air drops me, shoving, pushing

"Let go"

A breath leaves my lips

Silent, muted by the air

I am weightless

I am flying

I am against gravity

I am...

I'm falling

Land is closer, beautiful white roses

Yellow daisies, lavendar... closer

The cold has chained itself to me

The air has left with the darkness

No one is here

Suddenly, I feel the calling

Earth's hands open to catch me

I close my eyes, I can't move

I feel pressure on my chest

Tears flood my temples

And suddenly I'm on my

Bedroom floor

The sun watching over me

Right outside my window

My alarm gently rings into the air

Humming

I'm not falling

Not here

The theme was falling, and there's always the myth that inspired this piece - dying in real life if you fall in a dream.
