Favorite Quote:
The names are fake, but the story is real;

When wealth is held as one’s only ideal,

And believed to be the key to success,

Well, then I hope that in peace they may rest.

O, sweet oblivion-

You’re full of nothing, yet fill me with everything;

Intrigue, wonder, curiosity,

Temptation?

The thought of perfect emptiness,

Of perfect nothingness,

A clean slate, nay-

An obliteration of slate-

I must admit,

Is tempting.

Yet, terrifying.

So much bad gone,

But with it, too, the good.

And little though it is,

It certainly is.

I could jump in,

Into oblivion,

But to what end?

I could let the dark consume me,

Let it put out my light,

But, would I really be better off?

Would my friends?

My family?

The world?

No, they wouldn’t be.

In fact,

Only it would be.

The darkness would grow,

And keep growing.

I could feed it,

I could jump in,

Give in,

Let the darkness cover me in it’s sweet embrace,

But I won’t.

Because I do have lights,

Burning torches in my life,

They keep you at bay, Darkness,

Sweet Oblivion,

And as long as I have them,

You can keep calling;

I’ll keep ignoring.

And you can keep darkening;

My torches will just burn brighter.
