When I write I read the line in my head to hear how it sounds.

It sounds right.

I read it over when I’m done.

It flows.

But when others read my work.

It sounds off.

Saying  that it doesn’t flow.

Well listen.

Listen to the pauses I take after ever period,

After every new line I make.

When there’s a small dot.

Wait.

Then move on.

When I press enter.

Wait.

Then move on.

I bet you’re reading this thinking.

What is she talking about?

That might be what I intended for.

Because my work isn’t just for those to read,

But to listen.

Because in the end.

My writing sounds and flows altogether.

From the way I read it.

Before I wrote this piece, I really realized who different everyone read their work. So I wanted to write something that a writer would say when they hear others read their work and explain the way their wok should be read.
