Secrets
There is a truth that must be told by me
When late night words are exchanged and slip past
heavily hooded heads hanging lowly.
Brown eyes turned to violets in full bloom –
Promises made through a quick call’s bright cast
And the truth must be called out! Aloud, here
Between friends, or not friends who lend their ears.
So hearts collide amidst catastrophe
Then friends turn to more and not friends turn too
There was a truth that had been told by me.

Originally I wrote this poem as an assignment for my AP Literature class but then I ended up having a lot of fun with it and fell in love with it. I even read it at my school's poetry slam! The feelings I put into the poem aren't very true to what I currently feel, but when I wrote it they were real and powerful. I love it nontheless.
