Not Our Land
I would say
this land
is ours.
I wish I could,
but alas,
I cannot.
For, Mother
owns the land.
Not the White.
Not the Black.
Not even the natives
that cared for her so.
Mother gave us
Her body to use,
and we hurt
Her.
She is dying,
like all things do,
and it is Mankind's fault.
We should treat
Mother better.
Lord knows,
she deserves it.
