Deforestation
Felling, Falling
Beauty Gone,
Futures Lost,
Breathtaking wilderness destroyed
With the roaring of chainsaws
And the thundering of machinery
Come to take our trees away.
Being overtaken by our greed for land and riches,
Murdering thousands upon thousands of species never to be discovered
In less than 100 years, our rainforests will be gone
In their place, acres and acres of farmland.
20 percent of the world's oxygen is produced in the Amazon alone
We are suffocating ourselves with our need for wealth.
A Cure to cancer in one small leaf,
Trampled by the treaded wheels of tractors and combines.
By simply reusing the products we would usually throw away,
We can slow the advancement of deforestation.
By planting new life to restore the devastation,
Our world will still support life in a thousand years.
In one united effort, we can stop the killing of billions of trees
And save our world from destruction.
